I am the Systems Change and Inclusion (SCI) team Admin Assistant, within the Employment, Health, Skills and Communities (EHSC) directorate at the West Midlands Combined Authority. This was previously based within the Strategy, Economy and Net Zero (SENZ) directorate.
The role supports the SCI team in delivery of key events, holding of important meetings, other partnership activities and with monitoring and reporting processes for several key strands of work including with Faith Communities, the region's Homelessness Taskforce, Race Equalities Taskforce and Young Combined Authority.

I was the Commonwealth Games Legacy Project Officer, in the Strategy, Economy and Net Zero (SENZ) directorate at the West Midlands Combined Authority.
The purpose of the role, was to give Administrative, Coordination and Research support, in the realisation of a £20.8 Million Inclusive Communities Pillar of the Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund, which the WMCA has received from the underspend of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

I was a divisional Administrator - within the Ceremonies, Culture and Queens Baton Relay (CCQ) division, a Coordinator for the Victoria Square Festival Site during Games time and as mentioned below, a successful Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice, at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
My specific focus was assist the development and delivery of the games Cultural Programme in the Birmingham 2022 Festival, which took place between Thursday March 17th - Friday September 30th 2022 and the purpose of this role was to support the CCQ division to deliver a suite of world-class creative projects including Critical Mass 2022.
I also provided administrative support within the Organising Committee, to enable the day-to-day delivery of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies (in collaboration with Birmingham Ceremonies Limited), the Games time Live Sites (in collaboration with Outdoor Digital Productions Limited), the Youth Programme known as Bring The Power and the XXVI Queen’s Baton Relay: for the XXII Commonwealth Games, held between Thursday July 28th - Monday August 8th 2022.

A Count Assistant with City of Wolverhampton Council's Electoral Service for the purpose of the verification and counting of election and referendum ballots which occur within the city. Such counts took place on the after the polls take place and I took part in the European Union Membership Referendum on June 23rd into 24th 2016, Local Council Elections on May 2nd into 3rd 2019, the European Parliamentary Elections on May 26th, 2019 and UK Parliamentary General Election on December 12th 2019.

Events Steward

An Events Steward with Global Security, who provided Stewarding services for major events within South Yorkshire and elsewhere. All Stewards worked to ensure the safety of visitors and guests at events, respond to people's concerns and maintain crowd control in the process. Such relationships focus on local football clubs and engagements also take place at other important events including at concerts every summer, the Formula 1 and Moto GP British Grand Prix's at Silverstone Circuit, the New Year’s Eve fireworks in London and a considerable number of cultural and other events.

A Pass within a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, which was from a Distinction in a Knowledge Test (41 out of 50 Marks), a Distinction in a Portfolio Interview (17 out of 17 Pass Marks and 17 out of 17 Distinction Marks) and a Pass in a Project Presentation (17 out of 17 Pass Marks).
The Apprenticeship saw myself run a Administration based project for the Birmingham 2022 Festival Creative City Programme, alongside learning several areas in depth within Business Administration including on Stakeholders, Relevant Regulations, Managing Change and Finance. The Apprenticeship also included an engagement session with the House of Commons Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee in November 2021, relating to their inquiry on Major Cultural and Sporting Events, along with meeting Shabana Mahmood - Member of Parliament for Birmingham Ladywood on March 22nd 2022 at the Palace of Westminster.

A Candidate, for the Office of Councillor, within the City of Wolverhampton ward of Penn; standing for The Labour Party, with the support The Co-operative Party in the 2023 City of Wolverhampton Council Election, held on Thursday May 4th 2023 and the 2024 City of Wolverhampton Council Election held on Thursday May 2nd 2024. In 2023, received 1,550 votes and a percentage of 41.30% and finished 4th out of 7 candidates, within what was a poll to Elect 3 Councillors for the ward. I ended up just 46 votes off the 3rd placed candidate and in 2024, I received 1,656 votes, just 77 votes off the winner with 43.25% of the votes cast in 2nd place.

A Candidate, for the Office of Councillor, within the City of Wolverhampton ward of Tettenhall Regis; jointly standing for The Labour Party and The Co-operative Party, in the 2022 City of Wolverhampton Council Elections on Thursday May 5th 2022. I received 1,107 Votes and 34.94% of the ballots cast, which resulted in the 2nd highest percentage total, in my party's electoral history within the Tettenhall Regis and saw me cut the Conservatives lead in 2021 of 1,080 votes and 28.69% to 507 and 15.99% in 12 months. I formed part of an Election Address which was posted to 2,000 residents, a Get Out The Vote card which was targeted to 1,000 voters and I posted substantial content on the Facebook pages of myself and Tettenhall Labour - the former which had a 60 second video advert that reached 562 users over the final 4 days of the campaign.

A Candidate, for the Office of Councillor, within the City of Wolverhampton Council ward of Tettenhall Wightwick; who stood in the 2021 City of Wolverhampton Council Elections on Thursday May 6th, 2021 for The Labour Party and supported by The Co-operative Party. In receiving 789 votes; an increase of 45 on the ward's total in 2019, I formed part of several leaflets and direct mail shots which went to residents and alongside helping this, phone canvassed voters at the start and end of the campaign and enabled a successful presence on Social Media, whereby Tettenhall Labour's Facebook page reached over 18,000 impressions between March 29th-May 6th.
