WOLVERHAMPTON, WEST MIDLANDS - UK: 23:00PM, THURSDAY JUNE 10TH 2021
As a result of a meeting held on Tuesday Evening (June 8th 2021) and through a unanmious vote by Members, the operations of Wolverhampton Wanderers Fans Parliament have been concluded and the body will formally dissolve, upon the Parliament's merger into the new WW1877 Supporters' Society Limited; to be known as Wolves Supporters' Trust, effective on Saturday July 31st.
Despite the very tricky period, in which Fans Parliament has faced in the last 2 years, it has been a privilage to sit on a body full of passionate and loving Wanderers fans and through this statement, I place on record my thanks to colleagues and fellow members, for steering us through and continuing to - no matter the obsticle and haters, give representation of us; particuarly via the work of the Football Supporters' Association which will continue and strengthen via the Trust.
Along with of course buying membership when launched, I will very much consider what role I could have to play on the Trust's Committee, knowing of the real need for representation that doesn't just reflect the fan base, but also that of our city and the region; which happens to be Europe's youngest.
And with the Government Fan Led Review of football commencing, the danger still existing of a remergance of a Super League proposal and supporters' being constantly underminded by the powers at be, I and I am sure many hundreds of Wolves fans, look forward to ensuring the values of football are upheld and that our City of Opportunity and it's Golden Asset of Wolves, play a stronger and more effective role in the future.
